A war with no end

Through out time mankind has fought on numerous battlefields to establish a free open society or a controlled society. Within both realms of these societies they share common interest. The two most important interests that are shared are power and fear. Even within a free society fear is used to push an agenda or ideal to create a vacuum for power. The million dollar question is does this make a free society more or less hesitant to demand change? We have already learned that Iraq was a blunder based on cherry picked Intel, propaganda and fear based on simple words such as WMD’s and mobile biochemical agents. A direct consequence from such actions has caused the Middle Eastern regions to become more unstable and has allowed terrorist organizations a platform to justify unjustifiable actions. In sense our government’s actions have created the next generation of terrorists. For thousands of years both Sunni and Shias have argued and fought because of disagreements in there views of the same religion. Though Saddam was an evil dictator he was the glue in which kept a balance for a stable Iraq. Once that mold was cracked it created an opening for civil unrest amongst the people of Iraq. In which allowed a flow of Jihad extremists to emerge as insurgents to counter act against American forces. The Pentagon and the Bush administration’s war plans were flawed from the start with the lack of overall troops and no end game. They used benchmarks early in the war for selling points to the American people. After U.S troop’s deaths continued to increases with more and more bombings and no political reform they decided to surge and increase the troop levels in order to bring function to an unstable government. This surge did bring down the widespread violence because of more troops, but it lacked to bring any reform to the political process at this time. The big winner through this is Iran who was an enemy of Saddam and with the fall of Iraq it allowed Iran to play a bigger role in that region. One power falls only for another power to be established that maybe more of a security risk to the American people. Now the same people who got us into this mess want to throw more slop on the table and are planning for an attack on Iran in the near future. This will only happen however if John McCain is elected. John McCain agrees with Bush’s cowboy diplomacy. Shoot first ask questions last. As a super power our role should be to use talks to bring peace at the presidential level. Obama is right that you must meet with your enemies to see if anything can come about. It’s better than spending 3 billion a week for sake of war.
